Ms. Victoria Azad is a prominent political figure who has been actively fighting against the Islamic Republic of Iran in various forms and on multiple fronts for the past 46 years. She is widely recognized as a political analyst, strategist, author, and media personality. Throughout the years, Ms. Azad has founded and led several organizations dedicated to the overthrow of the Islamic regime and has gained invaluable experience in organizational and party work. She is the founder of the Iranianaran Network and maintains active ties with various political groups and figures within the Iranian opposition.
Ms. Azad has long-standing connections with political activists inside Iran and has consistently supported political prisoners. As a result, she is listed on the Islamic regime’s intelligence and security blacklist. She has authored numerous important articles and is considered one of the key figures in the Iranian opposition. With thousands of followers, she is frequently called upon to comment on political developments in Iran.
Victoria Azad holds a Master’s degree in Nursing and a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Leadership. She has worked as a nurse, head nurse, university lecturer, and in several managerial positions in her field in Sweden. In 2002, she was nominated for the Swedish Parliament by one of the Swedish political parties and rose from 16th to 4th place in the internal voting. From 1996 to 2004, she held various responsibilities in the City Council, sub-parliamentary bodies, and party committees, including:
• Spokesperson for the party’s women’s organization
• Advisor to the party’s international affairs committee
• Member of the Central Board of Amnesty International Sweden
• Spokesperson for the Committee in Defense of Migrants to Sweden
• Member of the Central Committee of the Swedish Left Party
• Party representative in the municipal unit for family and youth support

Victoria Azad is 63 years old and the mother of two children, a daughter and a son. Her daughter, Bahar Malavan Narenji was selected by Reuters in 2023 as one of 21 women shaping, driving, and financing the global sustainability agenda. Recognized among the world’s leading voices advancing sustainable economic development and human rights, she currently serves as a senior human rights compliance leader at Volvo Cars in Sweden. With a background as Head of Compliance at the Second Swedish National Pension Fund (AP2), Bahar brings 16+ years of legal, compliance, and governance experience spanning financial services, automotive, and international law. She is known for building robust compliance and due diligence frameworks in highly regulated, global environments.
